Wedding Wednesday: Bridal Show

A couple weeks ago my mom and I went to our first bridal show. We were successful, we booked a DJ and put a down payment on tuxedos and found a potential invitation place. We also went to a new church that morning to check it out for the ceremony, but it’s out. It was a Catholic church but it is not the one. We were also able to get a few things for the reception. It’s nice to check some stuff off our list, and to have some plans. I think we’re working at a nice pace. 1 1/2 years until the wedding! We’re doing good.

And this is our lovely photo strip we took at the show.

Wedding Wednesday: Wedding Band

I chose my wedding band! It was quite and easy decision once I found one I liked
for a great price I snatched it up! It is something I’m going to wear forever but it wasn’t one of the
most important items of the wedding so I was really on the hunt for a great deal.
It’s early and I still have over a year until I can actually wear it. But I saved $300 on it and who could say ‘no’ to that?

(The picture is kind of blurry. It’s 14k white gold with paved inset diamonds. Simple but perfect.)

Danny knows what type of band he wants but we need to go and have him sized before we can order it.

Wedding Wednesday: Flowers

While shopping with my mom one day we were at a craft store and we were looking at a bunch of fake flowers. I’m getting real ones for the wedding but it was a good way to get ideas of which kind of flowers I like and which ones would go well with our theme.

Roses

They’re all orange of course. Once I talk to a florist I will be inquiring about what flowers are in season
so they are guaranteed to look more like fall.
There will definitely be pumpkins too so I want to make sure they go well with those.

Wedding Wednesday: Reception Venue

Danny and I will be getting married on October 31, 2015. So, yes, I know it’s early to be doing all this planning. But I really, really wanted to make sure we found something that was open on Halloween. Danny will be gone for a few months this year so I really wanted to get this done before he left. So we went and looked at a hall and it just so happens that I absolutely loved it! The price was right as well and so were all the options, assistance and extras provided to us.

This first photo is what you would first see when you walk in.
If we decide to have our ceremony here (which I highly doubt), this will be where we would stand.

This is another view from the entrance.
That window is where the bridal party table will be.

That is the bar. The wooden doors on the left side of it also open.
The woman wrote ‘heavy drinkers’ on her notes for our reception. HA!

This is another view of where the bridal party table would be.
At first I was thinking that we would only have Danny and I at it, but it’s such
a beautiful window and a large space that I may have everyone sit with us.

And that is looking out of the entrance.
And my mother photo-bombing.

We have our choice of table cloth covers and napkins.
And they are not strict on decorations.
I think this is a great decision and that we won’t have any complaints. (hopefully).

I don’t know if I want to say that it’s a relief because it’s not like it’s the last minute,
but I’m so happy that this part is out of the way and that the date I really wanted is set.
Danny is the best and is spoiling me with the decision making.

This is becoming real. This is awesome.

Wedding Wednesday – Invitations, Save the Dates & other paper needs

So I have been doing a lot of browsing on Pinterest for wedding stuff.
We’re so far out that I’m just focusing on getting ideas and finding companies I may want to use.

So I found Wedding Paper Divas

I love the different fonts and layouts they have.
I’m definitely leaning to cards for our save the dates.

So far these are my favorites.
But we’ll have to see what kind of photography we have before actually choosing.

I love getting ideas – I may have too many.

Oh, Wedding Dresses…

… there are so many.

But I’m sure I know what styles I like – A line, Sheath, Fit & Flare and Mermaid. Theses are what I have so far.
I’m loving the lace and I think it will work well with the theme I plan on having. I’m a little unsure about straps though.
It’s something that I’ll have to wait and see what they look like on – but I have a feeling I’m going to get a strapless one – sweetheart probably.
I also like the low back – as long as it’s not too low.
