Counting Down

I wonder how many more times I’ll be using the Doing Time app to count down until I get to see Danny again.

He hasn’t even been gone for a week yet and it’s super lame.

It’s definitely better than deployment though.

And hopefully he’ll get to come home once on leave.

I’m working on staying positive and busy.

here we go again

Today Danny must report for training with the Marine Corps.

Four months.

At least it’s not a deployment and at least it’s not for over seven months.

I don’t want to wish the summer away but I sure hope this goes by quickly.

Project Life – Marine Corps Ball

I had such a  difficult time getting photos of this page.
(The lighting in the craft room after sunset is horrible!)

But I did a simple spread. I cut up 12×12 USMC scrapbook paper to put as filler and backgrounds.

I punched a hole in the program for the ball and added it in.
The bottom left slot holds our tickets.

The second 3×4 from the left has Danny’s old emblem from his dress blue cover (hat).
I didn’t have a chance to take as many pictures as I wanted.
It was a busy night with him being a part of the ceremony.

Marine Corps Ball

So this past weekend was my first Marine Corps Ball.
I hadn’t been to a dance like this since high school.
It was nice to see the ceremony (Danny was a part of the sword detail).
It was nice to be a part of something important and to celebrate all the Marines who have done so much for this country.

Of course I loved seeing him in his uniform.

sharing photos

Just thought I’d share a few photos.  Danny was a part of the sword detail at his friend’s wedding last month. I’ve never seen him decked out in his dress blues-but boy is he a cutie. ImageImage

And I just absolutely adore this picture below

It was a great weekend; the wedding was a lot of fun and it was a nice little road trip together.
