catching up

Annabel enjoyed her Saturday morning news.

And of course her and Danny had play time.

I painted this shelf and our flowers are doing awesome.
Their scent is so strong!

Danny’s nephews are too cute.

We had a family party.
We played volleyball for hours.
It was pretty serious.

This is our attempt at a family photo.

And another shot of the pup.
She’s the best.

Spring Weekend

This past weekend actually felt like spring. If it was humid out I would say that it felt like summer.
I was able to wear shorts and flip flops!
I spent some time with my parents. My mom and I have been getting ready for my cousin’s bridal shower.

Danny and I had a date night on Saturday and he helped me pick out a gift for my dad’s birthday.

Sunday was even better. It was in the upper 70’s!
We did some outdoor work and some stuff around the house. Annabel played outside and she loves her new frisbee.

It was so nice to have the windows open and get some fresh air.

We ran a ton of errands. We got the last of what we needed for vacation and I even started packing.

We also rented some movies (Catching Fire Homefront).
It was great to finally catch up on some movies and stuff around the house and just having some togetherness.
We are always so busy.

It’s again 70 degrees today, but we’re supposed to drop to 35 and get snow tomorrow!!!
It’ll warm back up after that but I really, really need tomorrow to be the last of any winter weather.

dear weekends, I live for you

This weekend was good. Saturday was relaxing. I made some cinnamon rolls for breakfast and did some cleaning and reading.
I got to catch up with one of my friends and Annabel loved playing with her.
Danny surprisingly had the weekend off so we got to spend a good amount of time together.

Annabel met her new bff this weekend. They’re too cute together. I love puppies!
Needless to say she was exhausted Sunday night and I’m sure she’ll be recuperating through today.

Annabel is too cute. I can’t help but have a million photos of her.

I hate when Danny has drill, but those are the weekends that I can do what I want and get stuff done that he wouldn’t want to do or usually we have plans when he’s home.

Before he left we had a little date night at Applebees.

Then came home and we rolled change for our wedding. Yeah that sounds totally cheap but it works. And it started with us just throwing our change in a box and realizing that each time we counted it we were getting at least $50. So we started rolling it and depositing it into our bank account. At first I was thinking that it wouldn’t make a big difference, but at this rate it could get us a couple hundred dollars for the wedding.

I started my fourteenth book this year!!! (Pride and Prejudice) Which means once I’ve finished it I hit my goal. I had no idea that I would hit it this fast! I’m thinking about raising it but I may just go with the flow.

I ran errands and was able to pick out a new swim suit for vacation. I’m sure my other two fit but the fact that I have had them for at least two years I talked myself into getting another one – it was hard to convince me.

I also did the typical cleaning and laundry and hanging out with Annabel.

My mom also came over. We’re throwing my cousin a bridal shower in May so we worked on her invites.

I ordered a bunch of favor bags for our wedding and started stamping them.

I did some work on our engagement mini book and a Project Life spread. At the rate I’m going I may need to split 2014 into two albums!

Danny got home at a decent time on Sunday so we got to hang out. I was so happy to see him.

And we turned the clocks forward an hour – more daylight! I love it!

Cheers to a new week – hopefully it goes by quick!

Although Danny was gone through the whole weekend it was still a good one. My friends came over on Friday to celebrate my birthday and I spent all day Saturday hanging out with Annabel and reading. It was the first day in months that I didn’t leave the house. I also finally painted the bookshelf that Danny built for me. Sunday I went shopping with my mom and sister. We got some wedding ideas and found some good deals for wedding stuff.

I can’t wait to get the bookshelf in our bedroom!

Annabel fell asleep on me while I was reading.
It’s so hard to train her to stay off the furniture because she is so needy and cuddly.
And cute so I can’t say no.

She also was sleeping with her paw on my hand.

Having everyone over on Friday night really wore her out.
She’s so cute when she’s calm and sleeping.

…Was a good day, even though we were snowed in. Danny and I finally got to spend some time together in the morning when he got home from work and we caught up on one of our shows – American Horror Story. The rest of the day was spent watching good television shows for hours, reading, napping with Annabel and drinking hot chocolate. And of course Annabel made it outside to play in the snow. Usually every Saturday I’m up and cleaning non-stop/running errands. It was nice to not have to do any of that.

photos from the last few days …

Such a busy weekend!
I feel like I didn’t get to rest at all.
I got to catch up with a lot of friends and do a bit of shopping with my mom.
I got some cute Valentine’s Day decorations and craft supplies.

I did some more wedding planning – surfing the web for stuff.
I have found part of my bridesmaids’ gifts.

I went to Dave and Busters with Danny and his family.
