Danny

Counting Down

I wonder how many more times I’ll be using the Doing Time app to count down until I get to see Danny again.

He hasn’t even been gone for a week yet and it’s super lame.

It’s definitely better than deployment though.

And hopefully he’ll get to come home once on leave.

I’m working on staying positive and busy.

catching up

Annabel enjoyed her Saturday morning news.

And of course her and Danny had play time.

I painted this shelf and our flowers are doing awesome.
Their scent is so strong!

Danny’s nephews are too cute.

We had a family party.
We played volleyball for hours.
It was pretty serious.

This is our attempt at a family photo.

And another shot of the pup.
She’s the best.

Danny and I ran some errands over the weekend and we got some flowers and cacti for the house.
I’m trying to brighten up the house for spring.

I also started rearranging some decorations and switching around picture frames.

Annabel absolutely loves her Frisbee.
The whole  fetch thing is still a little difficult for her though.
She likes to pretend she’s going to give it to you then run away.

I’m glad we got to see everyone and that it was so nice out!

It has been one year since I moved out of my parents’ home and into Danny’s.
(Which is now ours).

I moved in two months (exactly) before Danny came home from his deployment with the Marines.

I can’t even describe how the time has gone. It feels like I just moved
and yet it feels like it’s been years since Danny came home.

Within this year we’ve finished a deployment (well he did – you know what I mean).
I started a new job and we got Annabel.
Got engaged!
Along with a ton of other little things.

It was definitely the best decision ever.

I feel 110% at home there.

Danny is awesome – our life together is awesome.

the end.

Key West: Part One

Wednesday:

Wednesday was our traveling day.
Two flights and a four hour car ride.
We got to the hotel around 11:30 pm so we went straight to bed.
It was weird driving into Key West at night because once we woke up in the morning I was like “I wonder what Key West looks like”.

Our hotel room was really cute and I loved where we stayed.

Thursday:

Thursday we decided to check out the beaches. We wanted to see which one we liked the best and would return to.
We found a nice one with lots of actual beach and wasn’t ever really crowded. Plus free parking! Can’t beat that!

There was an amazing restaurant right on the beach.
We ended up going there twice and I got calamari in marinara sauce. AMAZING!

That night we went to the restaurant located at our hotel. It had a rating of 4.5 stars and I would have given it 100.
Best seafood I’ve ever had!

Friday:

We got up early to go snorkeling.
Danny loved it.
I did not.
I chickened out. I’m actually shocked that I got out in the ocean at all.

I was thinking they were going to take us somewhere shallow. Nope.
As soon as I got in the water I panicked. Literally.
I have anxiety issues to begin with.

So I got out as fast as I possibly could. I really didn’t want to ruin it for Danny by hanging on to him the whole time.
