Marine Corps

Catching Up: Photography, Life etc.

It’s been three-ish weeks since my last post. Life got a little busy for a minute there.
I’ve also been enjoying the busy-ness and the summer.
So Danny is gone training, which I’ve touched on before, but he will be visiting over the 4th of July weekend. So that’s awesome.

I’ve launched my small business -> www.carolmariephoto.com

I’ve had a few session so far. They’ve been free but I wanted to build up my portfolio. And so far it has been good.
Of course I’m really enjoying it. It’s so fun trying new things and learning along the way.

I’ve been hanging with Annabel and I have seen some of my friends who I haven’t seen in months.

It’s been a good past couple weeks but I really do miss Danny and I know Annabel does too.

Counting Down

I wonder how many more times I’ll be using the Doing Time app to count down until I get to see Danny again.

He hasn’t even been gone for a week yet and it’s super lame.

It’s definitely better than deployment though.

And hopefully he’ll get to come home once on leave.

I’m working on staying positive and busy.

It has been one year since I moved out of my parents’ home and into Danny’s.
(Which is now ours).

I moved in two months (exactly) before Danny came home from his deployment with the Marines.

I can’t even describe how the time has gone. It feels like I just moved
and yet it feels like it’s been years since Danny came home.

Within this year we’ve finished a deployment (well he did – you know what I mean).
I started a new job and we got Annabel.
Got engaged!
Along with a ton of other little things.

It was definitely the best decision ever.

I feel 110% at home there.

Danny is awesome – our life together is awesome.

the end.

2014

These are just some goals and/or plans for the rest of the year. I’m never one to make resolutions. I always felt that if you wanted to change something about yourself then why wait until a certain day?-just do it! But I’m one of those people who love to plan ahead so I figured it would be fun to make a list of things I would like to do. (I won’t beat myself up if they don’t happen though).

make a large dent in my school loans

plan an awesome two year anniversary celebration with Danny

plan our wedding – book the hall!

read  …  a lot!

finish the house

try new crafts

work my One Little Word goal into my life and crafts

visit Danny when he is away training for the Marine Corps

take more photos

focus on my health – start running again once it is warmer out

start up a new journal

take Annabel on more walks

monday monday monday

It was so unbelievably difficult to get this week started.

I was on the go all weekend even though I was sick.
Friday night Danny and I stayed in – due to me being sick.
He had drill all weekend so Saturday I got a lot of Christmas shopping done with my friend.
And that night I got together with my girlfriends from school.
It was nice getting to catch up with all my friends in one day.

Sunday I did even more shopping with my mom.
And now I’m almost completely done.
And so far everything I have is wrapped.
[I can’t believe Christmas is in two weeks!]

I was so excited for Danny to come home Sunday night (and of course so was Annabel). I wish we had more time together though.
So it’s Monday and I’m already excited for us to have next weekend together.

Project Life – Marine Corps Ball

I had such a  difficult time getting photos of this page.
(The lighting in the craft room after sunset is horrible!)

But I did a simple spread. I cut up 12×12 USMC scrapbook paper to put as filler and backgrounds.

I punched a hole in the program for the ball and added it in.
The bottom left slot holds our tickets.

The second 3×4 from the left has Danny’s old emblem from his dress blue cover (hat).
I didn’t have a chance to take as many pictures as I wanted.
It was a busy night with him being a part of the ceremony.
